First Nations Actor

Born in Cairns, Queensland, Samuel (Tainga) Savage is passionate about bringing the power of culture and storytelling to the stage.

A graduate from the Western Australian Academy of the Performing Arts, Tai has performed multiple roles in the Aboriginal Performance production of Fever and works professionally around Perth as a commercial dancer and all-round performer.

Samuel was thrilled to make his Music Theatre debut with Opera Australia’s production of Bran Nue Dae. Tainga Savage started 2020 on a high, scoring a role in Australia’s first Indigenous musical – only to see it cancelled by coronavirus.

In 2021, he starred in Broadway smash hit Hamilton, and he is playing the lead role of Alexander Hamilton in 2022.
