Melissa Kelly grew up in glorious Gulargambone , a tiny town in western NSW.  She began working with clay in 2015 after previously exhibiting artwork in the medium of drawing.

Her imagination is fuelled by classic stories like Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland and  Where the Wild Things Are and her first major solo show at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in Dubbo titled “Not Fragile Like A Flower” opened in July 2022.

The images in these cards are from drawings  for 13 ceramic “trophies”  outlining the regional adventures via the river systems of a Cat, Fish ,and Flamingo that  have now been set to music, animated, and choreographed for  Moorambilla Voices RIVERSONG.

Melissa is delighted to be collaborating with talented creative people on a project that brings joy.
