Meet Moorambilla Magic Maker @nonicarrollphotography ! Our wonderful photographer and team member for over 10 years.

Q: Tell us a bit about who you are and your involvement with Moorambilla?
I’m a farm kid who ended up living and working in Sydney, and through different work paths ended up doing what I was meant for – photography! I’ve been working with Moorambilla since 2012 and since then I have continued to grow in my role within the organisation. I photograph the Residency Camps, the beautiful landscapes of regional and remote NSW, the annual Artistic and Cultural Immersions, artistic work in collaboration with the composers and choreographers, the gala concerts. I now also produce much of the behind-the-scenes video content you’ll find on Moorambilla’s socials. And I make coffees…. Lots of coffee.

Q: One of your most memorable moments with Moorambilla? Gosh – there are so so many. There have been moments where the singing has brought tears to my eyes because it is just so beautiful to listen to; the wonderful friendships I’ve made over more than a decade; meeting such a diverse group of people and students.

Q: What do you think are the main impacts to children and young people participating in Moorambilla’s programs? The creative opportunities and the friendships they develop. Having grown up in a small farming community myself which had limited access to music and artistic opportunities, I fully appreciate how important it is for these rural students to have access to these opportunities that are truly world-class. It is a life changing program.

Q: In one sentence, please describe what Moorambilla Magic means to you! Moorambilla Magic to me is ‘possibilities’. Anything and everything is possible. You just have to be willing to say ‘yes’!

Q: You have spent a lot of traveling across Western NSW, in schools, on Artistic and Cultural immersions, capturing performances, behind the scenes moments and so much more; if you had to pick one place you’ve visited with Moorambilla that really resonated with you, where would it be? This is a hard question! Every place has its own energy and charm. It is as much about the people as it is the landscape. I’d have to say Narran Lakes though. Ive had some special experiences there that have stayed with me ever since. You can feel the timelessness of the place.
