These activities, which are outside the core program, present opportunity for the organisation to broaden its reach and reputation within the artistic and educational environments.
During the year, the choirs are offered performance opportunities from various sources. These non-core events are approved based on available funding, timing with students’ educational schedules and connection to the strategic goals and aspirations of the organisation. Concerts and events that were approved during the 2018 and 2019 programs included participation in Carols on Norton, a national tour with Hillary Clinton, a presentation at TEDxSydney 2018, a performance for HRH Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Dinner concert for the Bestest Foundation and an ABC Compass recording. As part of a three-year artistic mentoring commitment commencing in 2019, the program was expanded to accept additional invitations for touring. Moorambilla Voices was a guest artist at the Lismore Lantern Parade (as part of the 25th year celebration of the ‘Rivers of Light’ Festival) and supported the Illawarra Flame Tree project. Also, a three-year partnership with Bundaberg Local Council commenced in 2019 to support the ‘Milbi Festival’. This will broaden the program’s national reach into Queensland.
