KINetic Taiko Workshop

Quarterly School Workshops

This new program provides your Years 7-12 students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a full day of Moorambilla Magic, four times a year (once per term).

Students will participate in Japanese Taiko drumming, contemporary dance and movement workshops which will build on the foundations of the Skills Development Workshop tour, and will empower youth by developing their confidence, health and wellbeing and creative capacity.

YOUR TEAM OF TEACHING ARTISTS
The workshops will be led by world class Teaching Artists who are committed to fostering creativity, community connection, and cultural expression in young people. Taiko Drumming: Thomas Royce Hampton (Taikoz) and Movement/Dance Workshop: Neville Williams-Boney (NAISDA)

Moorambilla will work with each school to create a bespoke program for your students. The Workshop design has been informed by arts engagement research and sequential learning frameworks, so that students will:

  • Development of music, drumming, movement and dance skills.
  • Increase knowledge of physical consent and Indigenous Australian cultures.
  • Improve their health and wellbeing, self-confidence, self-agency and empathy.

INVESTMENT
Thanks to generous philanthropic support, Moorambilla Voices is able to subsidise this program 88%, reducing the school contribution to $1,000 per day of workshops. For more information, contact our Lead Ensemble Manager, Lindi Greenfield lindi@moorambilla.com or call.
