Oliver Muller
Composer
Based in Naarm (Melbourne), Queensland-born Oliver Muller is a first-generation Dutch-Indonesian Australian composer whose work explores connection, place, and shared musical experience. Growing up in regional Queensland informs a practice grounded in accessibility and purposeful engagement with performers and audiences.
Working across choral, chamber, and orchestral settings, his music draws on a background as a chorister, percussionist, bassoonist, and funk/rock musician. He has created works for ensembles including The Australian Voices, and received an orchestral commission from the Queensland Conservatorium, with a 2025 premiere in the Sydney Opera House Utzon Room.
Since 2023, he has worked with the Australian Youth Orchestra, traveling with and supporting young performers across Australia. In 2026, he undertakes new chamber and choral commissions, joins Topology’s Launchpad Mentorship Program, and continues studies at the University of Melbourne.
