Henry is an emerging violist hailing from sunny Brisbane, continuing training at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) with Caroline Henbest in 2021.Henry completed undergraduate study with Roger Benedict at the Sydney Conservatorium, receiving the Elise Herrman and Henderson Travelling Scholarships. Previously, he was a student of Michele Walsh at the Queensland Conservatorium where he performed as soloist with the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and Johannes Fritzsch, subsequently being awarded prizes for Most Outstanding String Instrumentalist and Highest Results. Henry was awarded scholarships at the Sommerakademie Mozarteum and Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, and played in masterclasses for Hartmut Rohde, Veronika Hagen, Christoph Schiller, Anna Serova, Tobias Lea, as well as the Danel, Australian, Elias, and Borodin String Quartets.Henry has performed as a casual musician with the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and in 2018 was an ACO Emerging Artist, performing nationwide with the ACO Collective. Particular highlights of this time include quartet performances with Pekka Kuusisto and Matthew Truscott, in addition to recording an album of new Australian music for the Hush Foundation. Henry continues to work with the Hush Foundation in Melbourne in addition to the ACO Inspire Quartet.
