Learn how to play the taiko in these specially designed modules for the Moorambilla Voices MAXed OUT company. Over the course of the whole module you will learn: a brief history of taiko; basic stroke including stance, stroke and grip; base rhythm; oroshi; and a new piece, including a full performance arrangement. This module suits all levels of taiko ability, including beginners.
Join Anton as he helps you explore groove and the capacity of your kitchen to cook up a rthymic feast.
You will need permission to raid the cupboards as you collect various sound sources to play along with Anton by the end of the module. Not only will you be creatively inspired but you will also gain an insight into the hundreds of hours needed for a professional musician to do the seemingly obvious – play as if it is “ natural” and “in the body” – this insight alone is worth it!
Remember to pack it all away and we fully expect to hear your kitchen rules!!
